A Literary Welcome
Welcome to the online companion to Pembroke Magazine, where you'll find history, submission guidelines, archives, news, and more. Peruse the pages and get to know this unique publication, providing the best literary offerings from North Carolina and beyond since 1969.
Check back often for updates, and like PM on Facebook to learn more about what's in store for the nearly fifty-year-old journal -- exciting developments ahead. For a sampling, check out PM's blog, Local Color, where right now you can chart the current issue's adventures in pictures and listen to Jill McCorkle read from her latest novel.
The newest edition of PM -- #46 -- is expected to arrive with spring and features a bevy of fine poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, alongside intimate interviews with Holly Goddard Jones and Jill McCorkle. It's a can't-miss edition. Neither is its predecessor, #45, called "a devastating collection of modern literature" by NewPages, with limited copies still available for sale. In honor of the outgoing edition, visit our blog to read Forrest Anderson's featured interview with NY Times bestselling author and North Carolina native Wiley Cash, whose stunning second novel, This Dark Road to Mercy, was released on Jan. 31.
